Our own business runs on it
Blooming Checkout runs SEO, email, social and finance work across its own brands on a system built with Claude.
Cash flow and training, automated
A cash flow system and a staff training system with modules, both built in ChatGPT for our own stores.
01 · The short answer
What is ecommerce automation?
Ecommerce automation is the use of software and AI to run repeat store tasks without manual work. Each automation follows a simple pattern: a trigger, like a new order, a condition, like an order over $200, and an action, like tagging that customer as a VIP. Ecommerce automation covers both store operations and marketing.
Blooming Checkout builds these systems for its own stores first. Every automation we offer you has already saved time on our side, and Blooming Checkout pays for its own mistakes before a client ever does.
Added app after app and still spend evenings on admin? More apps rarely fix it on their own. The time comes back when the right few jobs are joined up and run without you, and that is where Blooming Checkout starts.
02 · What we automate
What our ecommerce automation services cover
Blooming Checkout automates the jobs that repeat every day or every week in an online store. Each one runs inside the tools you already use.
Orders and fulfilment
Orders tagged, routed and flagged automatically: express shipping to the front of the queue, gift orders marked, high-risk orders held for a check.
Stock alerts
Low-stock warnings from your inventory sent to the right person, sold-out products hidden, and products shown again the moment they are restocked.
Customer service replies
Order-status and returns questions answered in minutes, with AI drafting replies from your own policies and a person approving the tricky ones.
Email and retention flows
Abandoned cart, welcome, post-purchase and win-back emails that send themselves from Omnisend or Klaviyo.
Customer tags and segments
Customers grouped by what and how often they buy, so VIPs, first-time buyers and lapsed customers get the right message.
Reports
Weekly sales, stock and marketing numbers gathered into one sheet or summary, so you read the week in minutes.
03 · Our own systems
Shopify automation we built and run on our own business
Blooming Checkout runs its own brands on the same kind of systems it builds for clients. Here is what runs on our side every week.
- A skills system built with Claude. The system writes and checks SEO pages, drafts emails and social posts, runs a quality check before anything goes live and prepares a morning brief.
- A cash flow system built in ChatGPT. Money in, money out and what is coming, gathered in one place so decisions come faster.
- A staff training system built in ChatGPT. Training split into modules, so new team members learn the same way every time without the owner repeating it.
Each of these replaced hours of repeat work that used to land on the owner. The same thinking goes into every system Blooming Checkout builds for a client.
04 · Where AI fits
Ecommerce AI automation: where AI helps and where rules are better
Blooming Checkout uses fixed rules for jobs with one right answer, and AI for jobs that need words or judgement. Mixing them up is the most common reason an automation goes wrong.
Rules are better for
Tagging orders, hiding sold-out products, sending stock alerts, moving data between apps and anything with money or legal weight. Rules do the same thing every time.
AI is better for
Drafting customer replies, answering simple questions in a chatbot, writing product descriptions, summarising reviews, sorting messages by topic and preparing reports in plain words. A person checks anything customers will see.
05 · Where to start
What to automate first
Blooming Checkout starts with the task that costs you the most hours or the most mistakes, not the most exciting one. A good first automation usually ticks at least three of these boxes:
- It happens every day or every week.
- It follows the same steps each time.
- A mistake costs money or upsets a customer.
- It slows down an order, a reply or a decision.
Order tagging, stock alerts and a weekly sales report are common first wins, because they pay back from the first week.
Selling in several countries
Shopify automation services for stores that sell abroad
Blooming Checkout builds automations that cope with more than one country, because lifestyle brands often sell into several of the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand at once. Each market brings its own currency, carriers, holidays and time zone.
- Orders routed by country, so each one reaches the right warehouse or courier.
- Customer replies and reports sent in the right time zone, not in the middle of the night.
- Public holidays and cut-off dates built into delivery messages for each market.
- Sales reports split by country and currency, so you can see what each market earns.
06 · Tools
Tools our Shopify automation agency works with
Blooming Checkout builds on tools you already pay for wherever it can, and adds new ones only when they earn their place.
- Shopify Flow for store rules like tagging, stock and order routing. Shopify lists Flow as a free app on every Shopify plan except Starter.
- Make for connecting apps, sheets and email platforms that do not talk to each other.
- Omnisend and Klaviyo for email and SMS flows.
- ChatGPT and Claude for writing, summarising and sorting, with a person checking the output.
- Google Sheets for reports and trackers that update on their own.
07 · What stays human
What we keep human, on purpose
Blooming Checkout automates the busywork so people have more time for the parts customers notice. These stay with a person:
- Replies to upset customers, refunds outside your policy and anything sensitive.
- Final sign-off on anything a customer will read that AI wrote.
- Pricing, buying and big decisions about the business.
Every automation we build includes a clear way to pause it, so you stay in control.

Automation pays most when the marketing is running
The more orders a store takes, the more hours automation saves. Questions store owners ask
Frequently asked questions
What do ecommerce automation services include?
Ecommerce automation services set up software and AI to run repeat store tasks for you. Blooming Checkout automates order tagging and routing, stock alerts, customer service replies, email flows, customer segments and weekly reports, using tools like Shopify Flow, Make, Omnisend, Klaviyo and ChatGPT.
What should I automate first?
Automate the task that repeats most often and costs you the most hours or mistakes. For many Shopify stores that is order tagging, stock alerts or a weekly sales report. Blooming Checkout picks the first automations with you on the call.
How much do ecommerce automation services cost?
Blooming Checkout prices automation per project, quoted on a 30 minute call, because a single stock alert and a full customer service system are very different jobs. The scope and fee are in writing before work starts, and some tools carry their own monthly fees, which you pay directly.
Do I need Shopify Plus to automate my store?
No. Shopify Flow, Shopify's own automation app, is free on every Shopify plan except Starter. Tools like Make and your email platform work on every plan too.
Will automation make my store feel robotic?
Not when it is built well. Blooming Checkout automates the admin customers never see, and keeps a person in charge of replies that need care. AI drafts are written from your own policies and tone, and a person approves anything sensitive.
Do I own the automations you build?
Yes. Blooming Checkout builds every workflow in your own Shopify store and your own accounts, and hands over a written guide. Nothing depends on an account of ours.
Can too many apps slow down my store?
Yes. Every app that loads code on your storefront can slow pages down. Blooming Checkout uses Shopify Flow and Make, which run in the background, wherever they can, and checks page speed before adding anything that touches the storefront.
Do I need technical skills to run the automations?
No. Blooming Checkout builds and tests every automation, then hands over a short written guide in plain words. Day to day, the systems run on their own, and you only step in when something needs a decision.
What is the difference between automation and AI?
Automation follows fixed rules: when this happens, do that. AI handles work that needs words or judgement, like drafting a reply or summarising reviews. Blooming Checkout uses rules for anything with one right answer, and AI with a person checking where judgement is needed.
Two versions of next month
In one, your evenings still go on tagging orders, checking stock and answering the same questions by hand.
In the other, the admin runs on its own, a short report lands each week, and those evenings go back to the business or to you.
