Best Shopify Apps to Increase Sales 2026 (What We Run)
Share
Here is the honest version most lists will not tell you: the two apps that lift sales the most are not upsell gimmicks. They are your email flows and your reviews. On our own stores those two do more for revenue than every countdown timer and pop-up combined, and then one post-purchase upsell adds a little extra on top.
Email flows, reviews, and one upsell
What we run: Omnisend for automated email flows, Loox for photo reviews, and ReConvert for a post-purchase offer. Three apps, the biggest levers, and a store that stays fast. Stop there.
We run four Shopify stores, so this is written from the sales figures on our own dashboards, not a features page. Below are the apps that actually move revenue in 2026, grouped by the lever they pull, with the real starting price and the ones we would skip.
What we run to increase sales, and nothing more
| App | Lever it pulls | Starts at | Free plan | Our take |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Omnisend | Email and SMS flows | Free, then $16/mo | Yes, to 250 contacts | The biggest lever |
| Loox | Reviews and social proof | Free, then $49.99/mo | Yes, to 500 orders | What we run |
| ReConvert | Post-purchase upsell | Free, then $9.99/mo | Yes, to 50 orders | Easy extra |
| Frequently Bought Together | Cross-sell | Free, then $9.99/mo | Yes | Amazon-style pairing |
| Bundler | Bundles and volume | Free, then $9.99/mo | Yes | Good for multi-buy |
| Judge.me | Reviews on a budget | Free, then $15/mo | Yes | Cheapest at volume |
| Vitals | All-in-one, 40+ tools | $29.99/mo | No, 7-day trial | One app if you want fewer |

Email flows: the money most stores leave on the table
If you install one thing from this list, make it an email tool with automated flows, and set up the welcome, abandoned cart and post-purchase sequences. On our stores these flows quietly earn a large share of revenue every month, on autopilot, from customers who were going to leave. We run Omnisend because it does email and SMS in one place, and it is free up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, then $16. The app is only half of it; the flows are the win. Our guide to the best Shopify email marketing apps compares the rest.
Reviews: the social proof that closes the sale
A shopper on the fence wants proof that a real person bought this and was happy. Photo and video reviews give them that, and they lift conversion more than any urgency trick. We run Loox because it collects photo reviews automatically after delivery, and because photo reviews sell a visual product in a way a star rating never does. Loox is free up to 500 orders a month, then $49.99 on the Convert plan, which includes 300 orders plus $50 for each additional 300.
If budget is the deciding factor, Judge.me is the cheaper route at a flat $15 a month with unlimited review requests on its free plan. It is the sensible starting point for a new store, and you can move to Loox later. We compare both properly in our guide to the best Shopify review apps. Reviews are a sales app, not just a trust badge, and they do their work on your product pages.
Post-purchase upsell: the easiest extra revenue you will find
The moment right after someone buys is the easiest yes you will ever get. A one-click offer on the thank-you page adds revenue without touching your product pages or your ad spend. ReConvert does this well and is free up to 50 orders a month, then $9.99. It is the one upsell app we would actually bother with, because it works after the sale is already won.
Cross-sell and bundles, without slowing the page
If you want to suggest an add-on before checkout, keep it light. Frequently Bought Together does the Amazon-style pairing on the product page, free to start and $9.99 a month after that. Bundler handles classic bundles, mix-and-match and volume discounts, also free to start and $9.99 after. Both can lift average order value by making the bigger purchase the obvious one, but watch your page speed as you add them.
Urgency, used honestly
Countdown timers and low-stock labels can nudge a real decision, and they can also read as fake and cost you trust. Hextom: Countdown Timer Bar does them cleanly, free to start and $9.99 a month after that. Our rule: only ever show urgency that is true.
The all-in-one option
If you would rather run one app than six, Vitals bundles reviews, upsells, urgency and dozens of other tools for $29.99 a month. Two things to know before you sign up. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial. And usage fees start on top once Vitals is attributing roughly $1,000 a month in sales, so the real cost rises as you grow. The other trade-off is that no single tool in it is quite best in class, so heavy users of one feature often outgrow it.
The hidden cost nobody adds up: app bloat
Every app adds code, and every bit of code slows your store. A slow store loses sales before any app can win them back, and it hurts your Google rankings too. Install ten of these and your conversion rate can drop, not rise. Add apps one at a time, watch your numbers, and remove anything that does not clearly earn its place. Check the speed cost with our Free SEO Scorecard after each install.
How many sales apps do you actually need?
For most lifestyle Shopify stores, the honest answer is three: an email tool with flows, a reviews app, and one post-purchase upsell. That covers the biggest levers and keeps your store fast. More apps is not more sales, it is more monthly fees and a slower store. Start with the Collection-First SEO System so the traffic arriving on those pages is worth converting in the first place, and the Calm SEO Starter Kit is the shorter way in.
Which apps did we take off this list?
Selleasy was on an earlier version of this page. It is no longer listed on the Shopify App Store, so we have removed it rather than send you after an app you cannot install. That is the other reason to check a price and a listing yourself before you commit: this market moves, and a list that is never rechecked quietly goes stale.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Shopify app to increase sales?
For most stores the biggest lever is an email tool with automated flows, like Omnisend, because the welcome, abandoned cart and post-purchase sequences recover sales on autopilot. Pair it with a reviews app such as Loox and one post-purchase upsell, and you have the three that matter.
What is the best app for post-purchase upsells?
ReConvert. It adds a one-click offer on the thank-you page after the sale is already won, so it lifts revenue without risking the original order. It is free up to 50 orders a month, then $9.99.
Can I use several sales apps at once?
You can, but be careful. Every app adds code that can slow your store, and a slow store loses sales. Add apps one at a time, measure the result, and remove any that do not clearly pay for themselves.
Are there free Shopify apps to increase sales?
Yes. Omnisend, Loox, ReConvert, Frequently Bought Together, Bundler, Judge.me and Hextom all have genuine free tiers, so you can build the whole of a sales stack for nothing and only pay as you grow. Vitals is the exception on this list, with a 7-day trial and no free plan.
Which app gives the biggest boost to average order value?
Bundles and post-purchase upsells tend to move average order value the most, through apps like Bundler and ReConvert. Reviews and email flows lift the conversion rate and repeat sales instead, which usually matters more overall.
Do sales apps slow down my store?
They can, because each one adds code. Keep your stack small, remove apps you are not using, and check your product page speed after every install. A full ecommerce SEO audit picks up the same problem across every page at once.
Apps only convert the traffic you already have. Our Shopify SEO checklist covers getting more of it, and the best SEO app for Shopify guide covers the tooling side. If you would rather hand it over, that is what our Shopify SEO services are for.
