Ecommerce website design
Ecommerce website design services, with the price on the page
Most website design pages make you ask what it costs. Ours does not. Below are the two build prices and what each one covers.
We design and build Shopify stores for small independent brands. Five so far, across flowers, wellness, womenswear and leadership training. Two of those five are our own shops, and we still run them every day.
One payment, split in two. Half to start, half at launch. No monthly fee, and the shop is yours to keep.

What our Shopify website design services include
Every build covers the same ground. The tiers differ in how much of it there is, not in which parts you get.
The pages a shop actually needs
Home, collections, product, cart, about, contact, delivery and returns. Each one gets written copy, not placeholder text you have to replace later.
Your products, properly loaded
Your photos, your descriptions, your variants. If your product photos are going to hold the shop back, we say so before we start rather than after.
Search handled at build time
Collection structure, page titles, headings and internal links are set up while the shop is being built. Retrofitting this later costs more than doing it now.
Speed and the technical side
Image sizing, theme code and redirects from your old addresses. The quiet things that lose sales without ever showing up as a complaint.
A checkout that matches how you deliver
One page, few distractions, and delivery choices that fit your real cut off times. Running two flower shops taught us this part the hard way.
Handover you can actually use
A walkthrough call and a short written guide, so you can add a product or change a price without booking us first.
The person who quotes you stays on your build
We read seventeen other website design pages before writing this one. Every single one talked about a team. Not one of them said who you would actually be dealing with.
So here it is. Nicholas James runs Blooming Checkout. He scopes your build, writes the page copy, sets up the search side and runs your handover call. Behind him is a small team: developers on the front end build, and paid search and Meta specialists when a project needs them. What you will not get is an account manager between you and the work, or the person who quoted you disappearing once the invoice is paid.
Five shops we have designed
Two flower shops, a wellness catalogue, a womenswear boutique and a leadership training business that sells courses rather than products. If you sell a service rather than a product, the last one is the closest to what you need.
What is not included
Not one of the seventeen pages we read states a scope boundary. We will.
Not in the price
Photography and product shoots.
Copywriting beyond the main pages.
Paid apps and their monthly fees.
Logo and brand design.
Ongoing SEO, which is a separate monthly plan.
What we will tell you before we start
If your product photos are going to hold the shop back.
If your catalogue needs restructuring before it gets loaded.
If a Starter store would serve you better than a Custom one.
We would rather lose the bigger sale than sell you the wrong build.
Paying from the UK, the United States or Australia
Most of the brands we build for are not in the same country we are.
One price, wherever you are
The same build costs the same everywhere. We show it in dollars, pounds and rand so you can see what you will actually pay, and we do not keep a second price list for overseas clients.
How the payment works
We invoice half to start and half at launch, in your own currency. The exchange rate is ours to worry about, not something that moves your quote.
Why a shop owner picks us over a design studio
Three reasons, each with its honest limit.
We run shops, so we have already made the mistakes
We have lost real sales to a slow collection page and a delivery date picker nobody could work out. Those lessons are built into every shop we hand over.
The limit. We know flowers, wellness, womenswear and training. If you sell industrial equipment, we would be learning your buyer alongside you, and we would say so.
The price is fixed before anything starts
You get a written scope and a number. Ask for something outside it and we quote that separately before touching it.
The limit. A fixed price needs a fixed scope. Open ended projects get quoted by the hour instead, and we will tell you which yours is on the call.
The shop is yours, with no monthly fee attached
No licence, no retainer tied to the build, no account you cannot move. You can walk away at launch and take the whole shop with you.
The limit. If you want us to keep growing it afterwards, that is the monthly plan, and it is priced on its own page.
Frequently asked questions
How much do ecommerce website design services cost?
A Starter store is $1,150, which is £850 or R19,000. A Custom store is $2,050, which is £1,500 or R34,000. Larger builds are quoted after one call. It is one payment split in two, and there is no monthly fee on top.
How long does a Shopify website design take?
A Starter store is usually ready for your review inside two weeks of us having your products and photos. A Custom store runs four to six weeks. The date we agree depends on how fast your content reaches us, which is the one part we cannot control.
Do you work on platforms other than Shopify?
We build on Shopify, and we migrate onto it from WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and BigCommerce. If you want to stay where you are, we will say so on the call rather than take work we are not right for.
Do I need the monthly SEO plan as well?
No. The build stands on its own and the search groundwork is done at launch. The monthly plan is for growing rankings afterwards, and it starts at $599 or R10,000 a month. The full ladder is on the SEO pricing page.
What if I only sell a handful of products?
The Starter store is built for exactly that. Up to 40 products on a theme chosen to suit them, which is the right answer for most shops opening their first online door.
Who owns the website once it is finished?
You do. The Shopify account is in your name, the theme is yours, and there is no licence to renew. If you stop working with us, nothing switches off.
Can you redesign a shop I already have?
Yes, and that is usually a Custom store. We keep your existing addresses where we can, redirect anything that has to change, and carry your rankings across rather than starting from zero.
What happens on the call?
About twenty minutes. You tell us what you sell and roughly how many products. We tell you which tier fits, what it will cost and when it could start, or that we are not the right fit for it.
Next step
Tell us what you sell
One call, about twenty minutes. Nothing gets built before you have the scope and the number in writing.
