Best Shopify Review Apps 2026 (Tested on Our Store)
Share
If you want the short answer: we run Loox on our own store, and for most lifestyle Shopify brands it is the one we would pick again. It collects photo and video reviews with almost no nudging, and those are the reviews that actually move a buyer sitting on the fence.
Loox, for most lifestyle stores
It is what we run on Fabulous Flowers. Photo and video reviews collected automatically, the best-looking galleries, and the kind of social proof that sells a visual product. Free up to 500 orders a month, then $49.99.
The right app depends on your stage and your budget, and the honest picture is not what most of these lists tell you. We have run reviews on our own Shopify stores for years, so this is written from the admin screen, not from a features page.
New to any of this? Run your store through our Free SEO Scorecard first. It tells you whether reviews are even the thing holding your product pages back, or whether the problem sits in your product page SEO.

Judge.me: the budget alternative
Judge.me is the budget answer, and it is a good one. The free plan handles unlimited review requests, which is rare, and the paid plan is a flat $15 a month with no per-order penalty as you grow. It does photo reviews, Q and A, Google Shopping and thirty-odd languages. The widgets are plainer than Loox out of the box, and that is the catch. Judge.me will collect reviews; Loox collects the photo and video reviews that sell. If you are past 500 orders a month and counting every dollar, Judge.me makes sense. Below that, Loox is free too, and we would take the better galleries.
Loox: the photo and video pick, and what we run
We run Loox because the galleries sell. It is built around photo and video reviews, and it makes the ask automatically after delivery, so real customer photos start filling your product pages without you chasing anyone. On our own store those photo reviews do more for conversion than any star rating alone. There is a free plan that covers you to 500 orders a month, which is further than most new stores get in a year. After that the Convert plan is $49.99 a month, including 300 orders, and $50 for each additional 300. The top Unlimited plan is $299.99. If your products are visual, which most lifestyle and fashion brands are, this is the one we would hand you. It is our pick for almost every store we work with, and it is what runs on our own.
Fera: the budget option with social proof built in
Fera is the quiet value pick. Paid tiers start at $9 a month and it bundles reviews with social-proof touches like recent-sale popups. There is no permanent free plan, but the 60-day trial is the longest in this list by a distance. If you want photo reviews closer to the Loox look without the Loox price, Fera is worth a trial before you decide.
Yotpo: the bigger-store all-rounder
Yotpo is what stores graduate to when reviews are one piece of a larger plan. It adds SMS, loyalty and an AI review summary, and it plays well with Google Seller Ratings. The free tier caps at 50 orders a month, the Starter plan is $15 and Pro jumps to $119, so this is a choice for a store with the revenue to use the extra pieces.
Okendo: the premium DTC choice
Okendo is built for brands that want to know their customers, not just show star ratings. Its attribute reviews let shoppers rate fit, quality and more, which is gold for fashion and beauty, and the data feeds your email and ads. Okendo does not publish its prices. Everything runs through a demo and a quote, which tells you most of what you need to know about who it is built for.
Stamped: reviews and retention together
Stamped bundles reviews, Q and A and loyalty in one place, which suits a mid-market store that wants fewer apps to manage. Reviews start around $199 a month, so it is not an early-stage pick, but if you are already paying for a separate loyalty app, the combined price can work out even.
The hidden cost nobody puts on the pricing page: speed
Every review app adds code to your store, and that code has a weight. A slow product page loses sales and rankings before a single review is read. Whichever you choose, run your product page through the Free SEO Scorecard after you install it, so you can see what the app cost you in speed and fix it before it costs you orders. A full ecommerce SEO audit picks up the same problem across every page at once.
Can you switch apps without losing your reviews?
Yes, and this fear keeps too many stores stuck on the wrong app. Every serious review app imports from the others by CSV, and most offer a guided migration. You will keep your star ratings and your written reviews. Photo reviews can be the fiddly part, so check that specific path with the app you are moving to before you switch.
How to actually get more reviews
The app is only half the job. The stores that fill up with reviews do three plain things: they ask by email a few days after delivery, when the product has just arrived and the customer is happiest; they make the photo upload one tap, not a form; and they offer a small thank-you, a discount on the next order, for a review with a photo. Our Collection-First SEO System covers the pages those reviews sit on, and the Calm SEO Starter Kit is the shorter way in.
Which review app should you pick?
Start with Loox. It is free to 500 orders a month, it collects the photo and video reviews that actually move a buyer, and it is what we run on our own stores. If you are past that free tier and the budget is genuinely tight, Judge.me is the cheaper home. If reviews are part of a bigger loyalty and SMS plan and you have the revenue, look at Yotpo or Stamped. And if customer data is the point, Okendo is the premium pick. There is no single best app, only the best app for your stage. If you are still weighing up the rest of your stack, our guide to the best SEO app for Shopify covers the other half, and the Shopify SEO tools and guides collection has the rest.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Shopify review app?
Loox, for most lifestyle Shopify brands. Photo and video reviews convert best, it collects them automatically, and it is free to 500 orders a month, so there is no cost reason to start anywhere else. Judge.me is the alternative once you pass that tier and need to keep the bill down.
Does Shopify have a built-in review app?
Not any more. Shopify retired its own Product Reviews app, so a third-party app is now the standard way to collect and show reviews on a Shopify store.
Are there free Shopify review apps?
Yes. Judge.me is free forever with unlimited reviews, Loox is free to 500 orders a month, and Yotpo is free to 50 orders. Fera has no free plan but gives you 60 days to try it. Okendo is quote-only.
How much do Shopify review apps cost?
Anywhere from free to $199 a month and beyond. Judge.me is a flat $15, Loox is $49.99 once you pass its free tier, Fera is $9, Yotpo is $15 rising to $119, and Stamped Reviews is $199. Okendo quotes privately. Checked 24 October 2026, and tiers change, so confirm before you buy.
Can I switch review apps without losing my reviews?
Yes. Every serious app imports written reviews and star ratings by CSV, and most offer a guided migration. Check the photo-review import path specifically, as that is the part that can need extra care.
Will a review app slow down my store?
It can, because every app adds code. Pick a lighter app, remove any review app you are not using, and check your product page speed after installing.
Reviews are only worth collecting if the page they sit on can be found. Our Shopify SEO checklist covers that side.
